Valentine’s Day Breakfast Inn at Ormsby Hill Style

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

On Valentine’s Day, we served our guests the most sumptuous breakfast EVER, and, of course, chocolate was the theme for the day.

The first course was a white chocolate pound cake.

Followed by clementines in a cranberry/grand marnier sauce.

The entree – a banana/chocolate baked-stuffed french toast with chocolate sauce – do we hear YUM!!!!!!

Romance Comes in Many Forms

Saturday, February 12th, 2011

Thirty-seven years ago when we got married, we started a “Superbowl Sunday” tradition of Chris making home-made  pizza – sitting on a blanket complete with candlesticks – eating pizza – while watching the Superbowl.    For some years now, we just haven’t done our pizza thing.  When Chris asked Ted what he wanted for Superbowl dinner – he said without hesitation – pizza.  So, I made pizza from scratch – handmade dough with toppings of hamburg, pepperoni, local mozzarella, tomato sauce, and asiago cheese.

For some reason, it was the BEST pizza I had EVER made.  Thought you’d like to see a photo.

“A Winter’s Day”

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Woke up this morning to the most beautiful snowfall in a very long time.  The photos below were taken from our porch and, no, they are not in black and white!!
Then all I could do was sing this song to myself:
A winter’s day / In a deep and dark … / I am… / Gazing from my window…/ On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow.   Lyrics from Simon And Garfunkel
