We are very fortunate to report no damage at Ormsby Hill from Sandy moving through southern Vermont.
After losing power for eight hours in a September thunderstorm, we ordered a stationary generator. It will power our well pump, hot water heaters, furnace, and lights at the inn. You can be assured a comfortable stay regardless of the weather outside. This mind-easing machine should be operational by the end of the week.

We do want to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, our staff, who do the most incredible work each and every day for us. A huge hug to Katy, Candi, Christine, Kim and Courtney – we will miss you terribly.
But, we are leaving the inn in the most capable of hands. Yoshio and Diane Endo will be the next caretakers of Ormsby Hill, and we know they are going to do an outstanding job, so enjoy your time with them.

Well, we are going to be staying here in the Manchester area for anywhere from 3 to 12 months before we head back to Maine. We are actually staying at a friend’s renovated deer camp – we can just image what you are thinking right now!!

Mother Nature finally answered to the snow gods and gave us 6″ of beautiful, fluffy snow. Yesterday, Friday the 13th, brought us high winds and snow – looked like a blizzard. But today, all is beautiful.

On Tuesday, December 13th, we received a call from a woman in Reno, Nevada. She was looking for the Believe in Magic pillows and found them on our site. She placed an order for three of them. The family cat passed away after 15 years, and the cat’s name had been Magic. She wanted to give the Believe in Magic pillow to each of her three children as a remembrance.
This is why we truly BELIEVE in Magic!!!!!!

The last two Saturdays we held our annual holiday open house – with all the proceeds going to the Vermont-New Hampshire Komen Race for the Cure. We were honored that on Saturday, the 10th, mystery author Archer Mayor from Vermont, did a book signing.

Five years ago, on a birding trip, we found a great tree house – which Chris immediately wanted one just like it. So deer camp is the next best thing to a tree house!!!
